The design on the obverse displays Liberty making her way across the horizon with one arm extended while the stars and stripes of our flag flow around her. This design is the work of Adolph A. Weinman.
The reverse features a bald eagle design. This heraldic bald eagle was created by John Mercanti. If you look at its talons, you can see it's holding a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. There are 13 stars above its head to represent the original colonies.
Perfect Mint State 70 with an ANA Label Signed by Mercanti
The experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) examined this coin carefully before assigning a grade to it. However, they couldn't find any flaws and awarded it a perfect Mint State 70 grade. It's grade is printed on an exclusive ANA label that has been signed by John Mercanti.
