We are delighted to present Tokelau’s ‘Mirror Roosters’ coin in celebration of the Year of the Rooster. The first in this 65 mm ‘Mirror’ Lunar series commenced with the Year of the Monkey last year and sold out within days.
This astounding 65 mm 1 oz pure silver coin features two roosters with an intriguing mirror image finish, providing an excellent example of the Minter’s art. The coin is created in proof condition, with the Rooster on one side sculpted proof with a highly polished proof table, the other side with a frosted table and polished Rooster.
Minted by the Mint of Norway, with a tiny mintage, this Tokelau coin is definitely one to add to any lunar coin collection
The Year of the Rooster commences on 28 January 2017 and represents the only bird to feature in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. People born in the lunar year of the Rooster are said to be very observant and have a keen ‘sixth sense’. They take great pride in their appearance and like to be noticed. With a cautious, even skeptical mind, they are not easily fooled and are said to make excellent trouble shooters, detectives, doctors, nurses and psychiatrists.
