Product Overview
This beautiful Never before has the Royal Canadian Mint produced a coin with an incused strike. With this new edition of the Silver Maple Leaf, RCM has produced a coin with the incuse strike on both sides. The definition of incuse is having the image struck/recessed into a coin as opposed to the standard raised relief.

Since first being minted by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1988, the design of the Silver Maple Leaf has undergone annual changes that include proof releases, various privy marks, holographic enhancements, and commemorative variations.
The sunken effect of the incuse striking is also present in the obverse feature, being a simplistic but skilfully engraved portrait of Elizabeth II making this a double incuse coin. Joining this incuse feature on the obverse, Elizabeth II’s name, the year of issue and the coin’s unique denominational value.
The novel striking method employed in this edition serves to make an already exquisite coin even more breathtaking and there’s no doubt this coin will enjoy above average investor approval. The coin’s reverse depicts a burning maple leaf gilded in gold. On top the inscription “Canada”, the fineness of the Silver is present on both sides, left and right. On the bottom of the coin the inscription “Fine Silver 1 oz Argent Pur”. The coin is completely plated with Ruthenium and partly with pure gold. On the coin’s obverse the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the issue date.
Enhancement was done by a private mint in Germany.
