Alien is a classic science fiction horror film known for some of the most memorable scenes in movie history. From the moment an alien larva attached itself to the face of Kane, a crew member aboard the intergalactic freighter Nostromo, audiences worldwide were fascinated by the titular organism – and horrified when its insect-like form violently erupted from Kane’s chest. A tense standoff between protagonist Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver, and the hostile adult alien in the final moments of the film is celebrated as one of the most unnerving encounters in cinema. The reverse of the coin depicts the coloured head of an adult alien with its gaping maw exposing razor sharp teeth.
