Arctic wolves are common throughout the Arctic region, mainly on the Canadian Arctic Islands and on the North and East coasts of Greenland. Here, the climate is harsh, with temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius. The arctic wolf is well adapted to its habitat due to its thick, long and warming fur, which also serves as ideal camouflage in snow-covered landscapes. In contrast to other wolf species, the arctic wolf's physique is very stocky - even its ears and muzzle are significantly smaller.
