Skull symbolism is the attachment of symbolic meaning to the human skull. The most common symbolic use of the skull is as a representation of death and mortality. Humans can often recognize the buried fragments of an only partially revealed cranium even when other bones may look like shards of stone.
The coin's reverse depicts a burning skull gilded in gold. On top the inscription "Canada", the fineness of the Silver is present on both sides, left and right. On the bottom of the coin the inscription "Fine Silver 1 oz Argent Pur". The coin is completely plated with Ruthenium and partly with pure gold. On the coin's obverse the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the issue date.
