Product Description
Pursuing our love for art, we are overjoyed to reveal another world-renowned painter as the 2nd member of «The Masters of Art» series. Claude Monet, 14 November 1840 – 5 December 1926, was one of the founders of French Impressionist painting. He embraced the movement’s philosophy of expressing one’s perceptions before nature, particularly in landscape painting.
The master of art was particularly fond of the water lilies growing in the pond of his garden in Giverny. Monet composed several water lily series on the mentioned French estate, resulting in roughly 250 individual paintings until the end of his life. The painting in the background of Claude’s self-portrait is on view in all its splendour at the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris.
