| Cobra Cobra is the common name of various elapid snakes, most of which belonging to the genus Naja. All of the known cobras are venomous and many are capable of rearing upwards and producing a hood when threatened. All members of the genus Naja, the “true” cobras, rear and produce hoods. The reverse of the coin presents a fantastic colored close-up of a Cobra with the twin tongue sticking out of its venomous mouth. On the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: “MAGNIFICENT LIFE” – the name of the series. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “5 DOLLARS” – the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” – the issue country and “2017” – the year of issue. | |
