Day of the Dead  (Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico. This limited edition high relief round displays exceptional detail that pays homage to the celebration of the dead.

Obverse: Features a traditional sugar skull with surrounding flowers and the words, “Día de Muertos”.
Reverse: Depicts an eagle devouring a serpent. The eagle is a symbol of the sun and a representation of the victorious god Huitzilopochtli. The snake is a symbol of the earth and, in certain pre Hispanic traditions, a representation of Quetzalcoatl; more specifically, in Aztec (Mexica) tradition, the snake is the representation of Coatlicue, the personification of earth and mother of Huitzilopochtli.
