The reverse of the coin depicts a pilot's mask reflecting the scene of a bomb drop on the Japanese city. The design also features some glow in the dark parts, alluding to people's ideas about the appearance of radioactive substances. At the top, the inscription: “HIROSHIMA” – the name of the coin and “06.08.1945” - the date of the launched.
The obverse of the coin shows the destroyed city and includes the Coat of Arms of Niue and the inscriptions: “2022” – the year of issue, “NIUE” – the country of issue, “5 DOLLARS” – the face value and “Ag 999” – the fineness of the Silver.
