The beautiful set of four silver coins under the title "Magnificent Reptiles" was released in 2013 by the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The four magnificent reptiles featured on these fine silver coins are the Snake, the Crocodile, the Lizard and the Turtle.
Represented on the obverse, there is the Coat of Arms of Congo as well as the inscription indicating the issuing year. Along the rim of the coins, there are the legends denoting the name of the issuing country and the face value of the coins.
The reverse design of each coin of the set features the beautiful colored images of such magnificent reptiles as the crocodile, the lizard, the turtle and the snake. There are approximately 7 900 species of reptiles alive today that inhabit a wide range of temperate and tropical habitats including deserts, forests, freshwater wetlands, mangroves and the open ocean. The upper part of the Congo coins comprises the inscription indicating the name of the coin set. Below the images, there are the legends denoting the reptiles’ names.
Issued with the limited mintage quantity of 3 000 items, each set comes housed in a prestigious wooden case with four fake reptile skin samples attached to the lid
