Year of the Pig
The Year of the Pig will run from 5 February 2019 to 24 January 2020. In Chinese element theory, each zodiac sign is associated with one of the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire and earth and each element appears in a 60 year cycle. 2019 represents the year of the Earth Pig whose particular characteristics include being a good socializer and excellent at maintaining interpersonal relationships. In general, pig personalities are said to be warm-hearted, good tempered, loyal, honest and gentle.
This astounding 65mm 1oz pure silver coin features a classic image of a curly-tailed pig with a cob of corn in its mouth on top of a mirror image of itself, providing an excellent example of the Minter’s art. The coin is created in proof condition, with the Pig on one side sculpted proof with a highly polished proof table, the other side with a frosted table and polished Pig.Minted by the Mint of Norway, with a tiny mintage, this Tokelau coin is definitely one to add to any lunar coin collection.
