Since Pluto was deprived of planet status, Neptune is the outermost planet of our solar system. It was discovered in 1846 and named after the Roman god of the sea and flowing waters. Because of the great distance to the sun, temperatures of -201°C to -218°C prevail on Neptune. In addition, there are wind speeds of up to 2,100 km/h - making Neptune not only one of the coldest, but also one of the stormiest places in our solar system
