“Slavic Gods” Perun
In Slavic mythology, Perun is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning. His other attributes were fire, mountains, wind, the oak, iris, eagle, firmament (in Indo-European languages, this was joined with the notion of the sky of stone), horses and carts, weapons (hammer, axe (Axe of Perun), and arrow), and war. He was first associated with weapons made of stone and later with those of metal.
The reverse of the coin depicts the incredible and detailed high-relief image of Perun, the god of thunder, holding his famous ax and arrow. At the top of the reverse, the inscription: "PERUN" - the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by vegetation, with a bear, a wolf and an eagle in the background. Below the reverse, the inscriptions: "2 DOLLARS" - the nominal value, "ELIZABETH II" - the name of the Queen, "NIUE" - the issuing country and "2018" - the year of issue.
