The Bounty was a three-master of the British Admiralty, which set off on a voyage to the South Seas in 1787 under the command of Lieutenant William Bligh to bring cuttings of the breadfruit tree from Tahiti to the Antilles. On the planned return voyage, the historic "Mutiny on the Bounty" occurred in 1789. .
