The Middle Earth map was one of the key components of J.R.R. Tolkien’s (1892–1973) The LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy. It shows the imaginary world in which the story is set, although most of the events in Tolkien's stories take place in the north-west of Middle Earth. The style of the map varies between illustration and cartography and has an archaic air about it. It may be a functional map, but still has an eye to grace and beauty.
