Tigers were once widespread throughout most of the forested areas across Laos, but today they have disappeared from many parts of the country. Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area is one of the few places where tigers can naturally survive outside of zoos. The coin bears the inscription "Panthera Tigris" on the left. The year of issue, 2020, is minted on the right-hand edge of the coin in addition to fineness and weight. The limited silver bullion coin is delivered loose.
