In Aztec’s believes Tonatiuh is a god of the Sun and a protector of fallen warriors. His name means “the one who makes the lightness.” It was believed that this god is Sun’s personification and has to be feed with human blood
to continuously shine and move around the horizon, so Aztecs made human sacrifices to him.
