The rat is the first animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The small rodents are very curious and explore their surroundings daily. With great imagination and keen intuition, rats rely on their clever minds to memorize places, paths, obstacles, feeding sites and other things. Those born in 2020, 2008, 1996, 1984, 1972, and every 12th year earlier under the sign of the Chinese Lunar Rat are considered wise, imaginative, adaptable, and friendly. Their motto is "all or nothing" and their mind is razor-sharp. They always fall to their feet and immediately get up again. So they always get to their destination, even if their opponents already believe they were defeated. The motive of the rectangular coins shows a rat framed by Lychee and the Chinese character for "rat". In addition, the inscription "YEAR OF THE RAT" is engraved. The reverse shows the Jody Clark portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue. The limited rectangular silver coin comes in a capsule within the original box from the Royal Australian Mint.
