Viewed as the guardian of the West, the bear spirit is present in many ceremonies as well as being represented by a wide array of charms, especially claw necklaces that are said to bring power and strength to warriors. As a spirit animal, the Grizzly Bear symbolizes inner strength obtained through introspection, possibly from meditation. When the mind is quiet, the soul or spirit has a chance to speak.
