Product Overview
This spectacular silver coin is the first issue in the new “Clockwork Evolution” series and features the well-known insect, the Bee, minted for the first time in a very particular way, half colored and half mechanical. The clockwork side is struck to a lower relief and the delineation between the two halves is sharply defined, thus giving the impression that we’re peeling back the natural layer to reveal the mechanical underpinnings. It reminds me greatly of the scene in The Terminator, when the T-800 peels back the skin to reveal the exoskeleton below, looking almost like an engineering autopsy.
- Each coin contains 3 oz of .999 pure silver
- Unique design with half mechanical
- Black Proof Finish
- Limited mintage of 999 pieces worldwide
Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, known for their role in pollination and, in the case of the best-known bee species, the western honey bee, for producing honey. Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea. They are presently considered a clade, called Anthophila
