The Tasmanian Tiger is a carnivorous marsupial wolf. Although there have been hundreds of sightings in the past 85 years, none have been conclusively proven, so the Tasmanian tiger is considered extinct. The last known surviving Tasmanian tiger died at a zoo in Hobart in 1936, less than a month after being granted a protected status.
