This beautiful ‘Lotus’ coin is the 4th issue in the ‘High Relief Flowers and Leaves’ series. Using the enhanced ultra high relief Smartminting©️ technology makes the Lotus pop out of the coin. Small details like the dragonfly finish the design. The coin is partly colored and struck on a piedfort 2 oz .999 Silver 38.61mm blank in the highest quality
The reverse of the coin depicts the Lotus flower and a detailed yet subtle dragonfly on one of the leaves. In the background are the green leaves that float on the water in relief. Inscription “Lotus” (the name of the coin) at the top and “2022” (the year of issue) at the bottom.
The obverse side of the coin depicts the standard Coat of Arms of the Republic of Palau with the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” (the issuing country) and “10$” (the face value).

The lotus flowers tend to grow along slow-moving rivers, ponds, and deltas. The flower drops more than a few hundred thousand seeds every year, most of which get eaten by animals. These seeds remain dormant for long periods of time while the water bodies dry out. Then during floods, the lotus flower seeds that laid dormant then spread outwards, starting a new lotus colony.
