This fascinating silver coin is dedicated to Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the German physicist who produced and detected radiation in wavelengths now called X-rays. This spectacular set of experiments earned him the very first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901. Röntgen passed away in 1923 on the 10th of February.

The reverse of this incredible coin depicts the inner part of a hand, as seen in X-rays. The hand features a special fluorescent printing that glows in the dark. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: “WILLHELM RÖNTGEN 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF DEATH” and “1845 – 1923”.
