Both the obverse and reverse of this coin are adorned with history. When you think of the Statue of Liberty, Emma Lazarus's famous poem “New Colossus” comes to mind. An excerpt of the 1903 poem is inscribed on the coin, paying homage to the New Colossus bronze plaque which is located on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. In addition to featuring the faces of significant historical figures, this coin includes a colorized depiction of the American flag around Lady Liberty. Obverse: Features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and an excerpt of New Colossus by Emma Lazarus. Inscriptions also include: “SOLOMON ISLANDS”, ELIZABETH II”, “2022”, and “$5”.
Reverse: Depicts the Statue of Liberty enveloped by a colorized American flag. Within the flag, are the faces of George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Sacagawea, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, and Susan B. Anthony. Inscription: “AMERICA THE FREE”.
