The coin’s reverse portrays a Chinese dragon and a koi. Eyed by both creatures, the flame-ringed pearl is the ancient embodiment of wisdom. Also included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, as well as a ‘moon bridge’ – its high arch and reflection on the water creating the shape of the lunar body often associated with purity or perfection.
The coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign. Also on the obverse is the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination, and year-date.
