The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. The church contains, according to traditions dating back to at least the fourth century, the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, at a place known as "Calvary" or "Golgotha", and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is said to have been buried and resurrected. The tomb is enclosed by the 19th-century shrine, called the Aedicule (Edicule). The Status Quo, a 150-year-old understanding between religious communities, applies to the site.
The reverse of the coin presents a beautiful view of the Holy Sepulchre and features an incredible and detailed miniature Window. On top of the reverse, the inscription: “Sanctuary of the Holy Sepulchre ” – the name of the coin and on the bottom "Jerusalem".
The obverse of the coin depicts the interior of the Church, the back view of the window and features the Coat of Arms of Palau. On the left of the obverse, the inscription: “10 DOLLARS” – the face value. On the right, the inscription: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” – the issuing country. On the bottom, the inscription: “2018” – the year of issue.
