The reverse of the coin depicts a wonderful image of the Wawel Dragon or Kraków Dragon, is a famous character from Polish folklore. It lived in a cave near the Vistula River in Kraków, terrorizing the city and its people. Many attempts were made to slay the dragon, but they all failed until a cobbler named Skuba devised a plan. He fed the dragon a lamb stuffed with sulfur, which made the dragon incredibly thirsty. The dragon went to the river to drink water but drank too much and exploded. Today, the legend of the Wawel Dragon lives on in Kraków, with a statue and an annual Dragons' Parade celebrating the myth.
